The Henry County Planning and Zoning office enforced the county's land use laws, provides and reviews application for projects, receives complaints and assists the Zoning Commission and Zoning Board of Adjustment.

On June 11th the Iowa Dept. of Natural Resources and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will host an Open House to present preliminary floodplain maps to Henry County citizens. The meeting will be held at the Henry County Emergency Management Office, 900 W Washington Street, Mt. Pleasant, on Monday, June 11th, from 6pm 8pm. This meeting is open to the public.

Services include:
Administer and enforce Henry County's land use laws
Provide and review application forms for land use permits, and issue permits for projects which conform to the laws
Receive complaints of noncompliance with zoning and nuisance laws and take enforcement actions
